ASHRAE UK Midlands Chapter is pleased to announce that the 2022 Doctoral Researchers Student Competition will be held on 18th May 2022 at West Park, Loughborough University. All current PhD students are welcome to participate. This page provides the details of the event and how to enter.

Eligibility and Criteria


All current current PhD students who do their research in any subject that is relevant to ASHRAE's goals (Sustainability, Renewable, Energy Resilence, Energy Flexibility, Zero Carbon, HVAC, Refrigeration, Building Controls, IEQ (Thermal, Visual, IAQ, Acoustic), Building Simulation, Data in Building, Passive design, Building Physics) are eligible to enter. 

Your presentation can be of any subjects that are relevant to ASHRAE's goals, which covers the built environment from both engineering and design aspects. Your presentation is expected to be based on your thesis works. The presentation time is only 5 minutes. It will be judged by how well the most innovative aspects of your works are communicated to the audience within the time limit. The judging panel consists of ASHRAE President, Mick Schwedler and people from the industry. 

 

We welcome students to participate from all over UK universities. The last date for registration is 13th May 2022.

 

 

Prizes


 

Prizes are offered by the UK Midlands Chapter in association with our sponsors. These include:

Certificate and £200 cash prize

2nd Place 

Certificate and £100 cash prize

3rd Place

Certificate and £50 cash prize
