Master's students Hope Tique Organista and Joshua Vasudevan from Low Energy Building Services Engineering course, Loughborough University received the ASHRAE Design Competition 2019 winner award from President Darryl Boyce during the Winter Conference 2020.

The conference ran from 1st – 5th February 2020 and was held in Orlando, USA. ASHRAE society and ASHRAE UK Midlands Chapter sponsored their full travel to the conference.

Not content with one award for UK Midlands Chapter, Joshua won the ASHRAE HVAC&R paper competition for his Master’s thesis, Predicting Thermal comfort using Thermal Imaging Technology, supervised by Dr. Mahroo Eftekhari. Joshua will represent ASHRAE and Loughborough University at the World Student Competition 2020 which will be held in India during February 2021.

The students attended various technical paper sessions and seminars during the conference as well as the world’s largest HVAC&R AHR Expo. AHR Expo had more than 1500 companies from all over the world.
